Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Cooking spray or 1 teaspoon olive oil
Instructions
Refrigerate: Allow the fry sticks to cool completely, then store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Freeze: Place cooled fry sticks in a single layer on a tray and freeze until firm. Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 2 months.
Reheat: Reheat in a 375°F oven or air fryer until warmed through and crisp around the edges. Avoid microwaving if you want to keep them crispy.
Notes
Cottage cheese: Full-fat or low-fat cottage cheese both work. If it is very watery, drain some of the liquid first.
Parmesan: Finely shredded Parmesan blends more easily into the mixture and gives the fry sticks a stronger cheesy flavor.
Flour: Regular all-purpose flour helps create a dough that is easy to shape. For a gluten-free version, use a suitable 1-to-1 gluten-free flour blend.
Seasonings: Garlic powder and Italian seasoning add a simple savory flavor. Feel free to adjust them to your taste.
