Ingredients
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza or marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup mini pepperoni, sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped green bell pepper, optional
- 1 tablespoon sliced black olives, optional
Instructions
Refrigerate: Allow the pizza bowl to cool, then cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
Freeze: Freezing is not recommended because cottage cheese can change texture after freezing and thawing.
Reheat: Microwave in short intervals until heated through, or reheat in a 350°F oven until warm and bubbly.
Notes
Cottage cheese: Full-fat or low-fat cottage cheese both work. For a smoother pizza bowl, blend it first until creamy.
Marinara sauce: Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara. A thicker sauce works especially well.
Mozzarella: Freshly shredded mozzarella melts beautifully and gives the bowl that classic stretchy cheese texture.
Pepperoni: Mini pepperoni is convenient, but regular pepperoni cut into small pieces works too.
Toppings: Feel free to customize the bowl with mushrooms, onions, olives, peppers, sausage, or cooked chicken.
